BOOK LAUNCH IN BERN IN THE GALERIE BEATRICE BRUNNER

Book launch at the Béatrice Brunner Gallery in Bern on April 27, 2024 at 3 pm

Come by—I'm excited to showcase my beautiful book and share about the lengthy process behind this photobook.

Dried flowers—fixed on old glass slides—replace the photo emulsion, becoming delicate photographs. "An Apparition of Memory" is a tribute to the beauty of aging and the passage of time. The images combine the fleeting nature of a light drawing with the preservative quality of a photograph.

Or as Yuri Mitsuda writes: »Flowers awake from their slumber as their petals quietly unfold, exposing the shadows they have been wrapped up in, and revealing themselves to us entirely.
Natural backlight penetrates the semitransparent, ever so slightly colored petals that, in their almost palpable elaborateness, make me wonder if these are real flowers.
Or are they designs made of weightless particles of light?«
