The interview with me by Kimberly Whitman for Lenscratch offers insights into my work with still lifes: Link to the interview
I first met Kimberly 20 years ago, when we were both living in New York City. Reflecting on my still lifes which have changed considerably over the years while continuing to share certain common threads, she writes:«After working for years in the somber tones associated with classical still life painting, Lustenberger’s most recent project “An Apparition of Memory” makes a striking departure. The photos are both starkly minimal and sumptuously beautiful. While their backgrounds are a clinical white, the detailed forms of her floral subjects are both colorful and intricately detailed. As a lover of flowers and beauty, I am transfixed.»
